- Mayor of London Tech Invest programme in partnership with UKBAA - Talk at City HallThe first in the series of the Mayor of London’s TechInvest Programme launched on January 18, 2018 at London’s Living Room, atop the iconic City Hall. In partnership with UK Business Angels Association, the Mayor of London’s TechInvest welcomed an audience of over 130 investor and industry experts with a total combined investment capacity of over £1.2bn. The leading 10 presenting AI businesses were selected from over 67 applicants by a panel of industry expert judges, which included Simon Menashy – Partner at MMC Ventures, Ben Blume – Principal at Atomico, Wendy Tan White – Partner BGF Ventures and Hitesh Thakrar – Partner at Syncona. The evening featured a warm welcome from Deputy Mayor Rajesh Agrawal, and insightful presentations on the future of AI and London’s AI tech space by guest speakers Verity Harding, Co-Lead DeepMind Ethics and Society and Tabitha Goldstaub, Co-Founder of CognitionX who was also a judge. Throughout the evening we heard presentations on Artificial Intelligence and machine learning covering various sectors including autonomous vehicles and road safety, health and social care, housing, infrastructure and construction, finance and insurance and retail and commerce.
