I am a South African born designer who is currently living in London. After three years of studying Art Direction specialising in advertising and two years of working in the industry, I developed a passion for strategic design. This lead me to do my MA in Design Management and Cultures.Through the course and research journey I have discovered the future impact of ethical design. Collaborated with brands to create content for the digital space. Art directed and photographed clients according to strategic brand direction. Assisted photographers to grow knowledge of different photography fields. Brands included: Spree, Kaufmann Sulek, New Co, RoyalT, Utyre, Fabiani, JC Le Roux, Katchmi Technologies, Rust & Roses, Greenhouse CoWorking & Old Khaki.
Worked on a variety of brands doing conceptualising, print design, digital design and content creation. Aided in large pitches to brands such as Nike. Was a visual designer for web and mobile. Created mood boards, storyboards, illustrations, and other executions of design directions to guide clients through branding options. Brands included: Boiler Room, Red Heart Rum, Olmeca Tequila, Investec, Inner Circle, G.H Mumm, Ballentines, Engen, Alexander Forbes, Social Feed, Havanna Club & Bar One.
As I was the only designer in the digital team I was assigned to execute ideas that included branding, print and digital design as well as assist in the ideation process.The clients included large and small companies based in South Africa. Brands included: Lip Ice, First National Bank, FNB Varsity Cup and Garagista Artisinal Beer.
The masters focuses on combining design, business and humanities. The course develops consumer research skills, human-centric approaches, design strategies, future trend forecasting, leadership abilities and reflection practices.
During the three years, specialising in Art Direction, the course centres around storytelling and ideation of brand communication design. Graphic design, design for web and principles of marketing were included for a more holistic portrayal of the creative industry.
The intensive, year long course includes a variation of creative, commercial and journalist photography.
