About me
I want to work in a position which allows me to achieve the things I am passionate about; namely working in an industry which is an interesting, rewarding, and an important way of giving people a voice and contributing to culture. I love writing, theatre and television and developing scripts and watching that transition from page to stage/screen. I have a passion for spreading a love for the arts and enjoy taking on new and challenging projects. In 2015 I was a co-ordinator for the launch of the first festival hosted by the New Theatre: the Student Fringe Festival. For this I assisted the writing of the successful arts funding application which won us over five-thousand pounds to fund the event, and in orchestrating the arrangements for production companies to lead workshops and perform throughout the festival. This festival was created with the aim of encouraging both students and the community of Nottingham to get involved in the arts. This three day event was a huge success and will be running its third festival this summer. I am determined, excellent at time management and working in high pressure situations. In August 2015 I took a play to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where I was writer, director, and company production manager. As well as putting the show together I was also in charge of sourcing props, organising travel and accommodation for the month, liaising with ZOO venue for our technical set up, maintaining the budget, designing and building the set, and designing the flyers and poster for the production. This really strengthened by ability to manage my time, workload, and to set my own targets, as well as learning to work well under pressure. I have good numeracy and budgeting skills, as my position as Theatre Manager required me to manage the department’s expenses and maintenance budgets which included building renovations. I was in charge of the budget for the play I took to Edinburgh which included managing venue costs, publicity, props, set and travel expenses and we still made a small profit which at the Edinburgh festival is quite a feat. I am a hard worker, enthusiastic and willing to do whatever is necessary to contribute to the success of every project I work on.

Cheque Please Edinburgh Fringe 2015Cheque Please is a play I took to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015. It is part verbatim theatre that has been crafted into a fiction story and follows Ivy as she struggles with depression. It gives the audience and honest look about what it's like to struggle with mental health in every day life. We ran the whole month and it was recieved very well with mutliple four star reviews. I was the writer, director, set designer, builder and poster and flyer designer.
Work history
    Content Editor
    Full Time
I monitor US news and legislation systems and write press releases and summaries of articles and legislature for our clients. Not only has this strengthened my expertise in creating and maintaining office systems and databases, it also means that I am competent at adhering to strict deadlines since all of our material has to be out within twenty-four to forty-eight hours. It has also helped me to develop a keen eye for detail as I have to be attentive to the meaning of an article or document in order to accurately summarise the author's main points for our clients. It has taught me to be vigilant in terms of grammar, spelling and layout as any errors would leave a bad impression on the client. I work in a team of twenty, some of whom work in offices across England and America, including my manager. This means that I have experience in independently keeping on top of my own deadlines and am in charge of my own schedule. This has strengthened my communication and interpersonal skills enormously as it is imperative to our success that there are strong lines of communication between us.
    Assistant Painter
     - Freelance
I worked as an assistant painter in the theatre's onsite paint shop on the production of Noises Off. I worked with a small team of painters developing artistic and design techniques. I attended design meetings, took minutes and provided administrative support to the department.
