This role is predominantly research based including completing Impact Research and reports based on independent research of the organisations membership. Additionally, I provide administrative research support to the organisation's Chief Executive providing assistance in advance of his meetings, conferences and speeches. The role also involves facilitating the operation of future research. This is done by co-ordinating current research projects and setting up a Business Intelligence hub creating a space for past research documents and templates to be readily accessible to staff members undertaking any form of research.
Alongside my final year studies I undertook a placement with the NGO Tearfund. Working closely with the organisations and an externally commissioned academic I completed a piece of impact research based on independently organised qualitative research. This will feature in future Tearfund publications and will be used to motivate the origination's campaigners.
*Note: I have not worked for Depop HQ but have been a seller on the social media platform.* Using the social media platform I have established my own vintage clothing reselling brand. I have had to teach myself every step of the process independently; buying, upcyclying, photographing, pricing and selling. Additionally, as I have expanded my depop shop I created a spreadsheet in order to track my income and output. This developed into a much more detailed system where I cod the items based on style, era and brand in order to discover which items have the greatest profit margin and ultimately use this insight to inform future purchases. As well as this, I have been invited to attend exclusive events at Depop HQ such as the recent clothes swap lead by the community development team. I was also hand selected to be part of the recent products workshop at Depop HQ providing the team with valuable live feedback and testing proposed features in part of a small group of Depop sellers.
