Hey I'm Ollie. Positive thinker, do-gooder and lover of life. Currently taking on freelance work. Curiously Creative: It’s diving head first into the unknown. It’s bounding down the path less travelled. It’s never saying never. It’s a way of being. It’s how I define myself. Always questioning everything is how I build up an understanding. Interrogating a brief is crucial aspect of developing solid reasoning for design decisions. I strive to confidently produce the most effective possible outcome.

• Courier Live 2018Courier Live 2018 is one day festival celebrating modern business and start-up culture. With 20 talks and workshops spread over three floors, it was my job to design all the signage for the event.
• Pioneers Post QuarterlyAt Matter&Co I lead the creative on Pioneers Post Quarterly. Pioneers Post delivers the latest news on responsible business leaders and social entrepreneurs around the globe. The magazine challenges me to communicate complex ideas simply through design. Touching on themes of forwarding thinking and progress, I also often look back through design history, to draw my inspiration from the actual pioneers of their day. Here are a selection of my favourite spreads from the past 12 months.
• Creative Collisions 2017 ConferenceAt Matter&Co a small team were tasked to produce, design and deliver the Creative Collisions 2017 conference - the largest youth charity sector event of the year.  The event’s aim was to explore the issues young people are concerned about and how the sector might tackle them – inspirational figures covered topics such as mental health, gender equality and politics.  The icon design is a spark or explosion as it collides. The supporting graphic is a mass of squiggles that represent the individual
• SignagePeople trust in signage, they take it for granted that it will direct them, instruct them or help them on their way. Official signage is an established and authoritative media. Tweaking or subverting its message can create powerful reactions.
• Good Deals 2016 ConferenceGood Deals is the UK’s leading international conference for social enterprise, social investment & social innovation. The event is organised and designed in-house. So we had complete creative freedom over the design.
• Amnesty International posterAn interactive poster for Amnesty International.  The poster invites the viewer to give their opinion. Attached to the poster is a pen on elasticated cord that cannot physically reach the ‘No’ option. This forces the viewer to tick yes, demonstrating how it feels to be forced against their will.

As a senior designer, I worked closely with stakeholders in the company to tease out marketing opportunities and produce a range of digital campaigns, event branding. I sourced and breifed freelancers where appropriate and creatively directed a series of short films. I also resigned the company website. Beginning with a digital audit and UX research, I then designed and worked closely with a developer to build and test unique UI features.
