I completed freelance work consisting of weddings, christening’s and organised events including birthday parties to formal events including a regimental dinner for officers and civilian’s staff of the Royal Air Force. Photographing the whole event with managers and guests for multiple purposes. I organised and edited the images to high standards to ensure payment and future bookings. Using my skills in colour and black and white printing to develop and print the images. Finishing the work by providing images or prints to desire, including different formats online or multiple sized prints; also creating a book or magazine. I easily and quickly built up contacts and lasting relationships from happy clients for word of mouth recommendations and future bookings. Also successfully using social media activity to increase awareness around my services provided.
I was responsible for the whole photography process within the business. I had creative freedom and enjoyed using my innovation to style and photograph the garments to give the website a fresh and unique look. My new Ecommerce photography style attracted blogger ‘Nina Rose’ to write about the budding company, praising its style and providing us with possible new customers by extra online coverage. I photographed the products on mannequins and live models, styling each garment to insure high quality results and increase on sales. I edited the photographs to ensure imagery was of the highest standard and fits neatly on display page and within emails. My attention to detail was vital as my finished images are the only window between this new brand and the consumer; impeccable photography and presentation is the key to ensuring the sale of an item. I organised, styled, photographed and edited a sequence of lifestyle images to make a ‘look book’ for the latest clothing line. This was helpful for marketing as it was easily printed and handed out to the public gaining more traffic for the website therefore more overall customers. I helped with creative content writing, describing the products to promote their best features. I was the main person handling the garments so I knew their key selling points and could easily highlight these features with my photography and clever product description.
My task orientated personality and efficient approach to my daily work routine enabled me to quicken the workflow, therefore increasing KPI’s within the business. I used my organisation skills to create new processes that made the photography within the business run more efficiently. Using my initiative to request stock prior to deliveries to quicken the procedure and increase on KPI expectation for the coming week. With any spare time I requested products with old imagery or items with selling difficulties and re photographed them in new formats to improve on page layouts and help increase sales. This improved the overall look of the website and increased profits for the business. I was responsible for high value items of well-known brands IE Hugo Boss, Ted baker, Vivienne Westwood and many more. I managed the stock flow for photography, noting the whereabouts of each item and guiding them through the process. I completed all of my tasks efficiently, which helped the warehouse to achieve delivery deadlines. My vigilance and ownership when Unpacking / repacking of stock and reapplying all tags to the items saved the warehouse staff valuable time. It also creates less responsibility for the managers, as the standard of packaging is consistent without needing to be repacked or checked. I managed the in house photography studio and was responsible for all lighting equipment and cameras with excess of value £4000. I designed new mannequins for the company to achieve the ghost look photography that matched our competitors. This also lessened the responsibilities of the graphic designer and created more time for him to complete other tasks. I photographed the products on mannequins and live models, styling each garment to insure a high quality finish. I standardized the styling of each shot so the products would match each other and sit neatly on the page. This gave a clearer and more pleasurable viewing experience when navigating our website. I created extra imagery for banners, PR and media (lifestyle included). Using my Photoshop skills to speedily edit/retouch imagery ready for upload or publishing. When needed I helped the graphic designer achieve deadlines to get the images ready for upload. The nature of our business and fast paced environment made the turnaround for image completion, from entering the building to going online very tight. My flexibility and organisation helped achieve many deadlines within the marketing department.
