During my time working freelance, I worked on a various different graphic design and branding projects. These different roles ranged from UX based app design to creating a company a new brand identity. These roles have helped me to improve my business and time management skills, whilst also strengthening my graphic design ability.
I volunteered for 11 weeks as a teacher in the rural village of Udumuka, Tanzania. Our aim was to teach an entrepreneurship program to young adults, helping them to secure grants so that they could open their dream business’. Responsibilities included teaching core business principles to a group of people who had only gained a primary level education and leading a diverse group of individuals. This role helped me to learn about different cultures and helped me develop as a person.
My responsibilities during this role included full flexibility in the designing and modelling Platform’s ‘P Dot’ concept, a wireless network that helps to structure client discussions in a highly interactive and innovative way. This role gave me great design industry experience, as I worked closely with the head of the project to create a final 3D printed model that was both aesthetic and functional.
I helped iWall Ltd design their new iWall 60 sustainable aluminium partition for offices. The new design ensures all aluminium completely interfaces together to enable easy installation and relocation, whilst also ensuring great sound insulation. Responsibilities within this role includes working within a small team of designers to improve their existing design through sketches, modelling and finally technical drawings ready for manufacture.
