Accra-based photographer and director, Onasis Gaisie fell in love with photography as a boy taking and developing pictures with his father. He photographed everything from family to flora & watched the photos bloom into being as his father processed the films. Onasis began the transition from his childhood hobby to a professional career, serving as the official photographer for the annual Ghana Garden and Flower show – a role he also secured in 2015. His first joint exhibition - The Architect Project - followed in 2017. As a freelance photographer, Onasis has developed a broad portfolio and has notably been recognized as a Getty Images contributor. In 2019, Onasis joined the boutique media production house, Apag Studios, as a Production Manager and Creative lead. He has overseen various projects in Documentary, Commercial, Editorial photography & media production.
Onasis cannot help, but naturally portray the culture, lifestyle, and fashion of his native country Ghana, from past to current trends, in his works.
