Orin Norbert - aka oriyo - is a British Singer, Songwriter, Producer and DJ. He is also the founder of OMG Collective; a London-based Creative Collective and Label. Starting out in 2001 as a dancer, choreographer and director, Orin retired from performing arts in 2008 to pursue a career in music. In 2010, he founded OMG Collective and in addition to developing emerging artists, has been curating a new genre of music called ‘Soul-Hop’; an eclectic blend of soul, jazz, funk, hip-hop and house. As a producer and performer he: - Was co-choreographer and musical director for ‘I AM’ (Breakin’ Convention - 2008) - Played the lead role of ‘Juice’ in the Royal Opera House’s production Demon Juice - Performed with legendary group Boney M (Tribute tour - Prague 2009) - Created Soul-Hop Sundays; a weekly giveaway music series actively viewed in over 49 countries - Headlined at venues the likes of Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Century Club, Soho House and Shoreditch House After acquiring a diploma in Music Technology, Orin enrolled at the University of Westminster - where he currently studies a BA Degree in Commercial Music and Business. Since kicking off his DJ career in 2013 - as the Host of the album launch party for musical group Black Orange Juice (True Panther Sounds/MTA) - oriyo has in three short years, gone on to spin records and move the dance floors of some of London's top venues. A warm-up DJ at double award-winning venue The Drury Club, He is also a resident DJ of popular club night 'Free Delivery' held monthly in Dalston's famed venue The Alibi. Trained as a dancer, choreographer and performer with East London Youth Dance Company under the tutelage of Bonnie Oddie. In November 2007, Orin Norbert was cast as the lead character 'Juice' in hip-hopera production "Demon Juice"; a partnership between the Royal Opera House Education and East London Dance.
