About me
Essentially, I am a wordgazer with a creative mindset. A proofreader–copy-editor (Catalan, Spanish, English) and a translator (English/French > Catalan/Spanish, Catalan <> Spanish). More broadly, an applied linguist (specialized in Terminology, Neology, and Lexicography).
Currently I am... a linguist, to sum it up. I would like to focus on the publishing industry, encompassing a range of interests and ongoing training in fiction (and non-fiction and factual fiction) translated (and non-translated) literature.
For most of my career I have taken a lexicon-focussed approach to academic and editorial. I used to be yet another scholar (for lack of a more accurate label so far) interested in Morphology. Since 2018 I have analyzed the interface between Specialized Lexicon and Semantics / Syntax / (Plain) Discourse. In this context I coined the term ‘Eventive Specialized Lexical Unit’, as elaborated throughout the PhD thesis and the articles or chapters therefrom — because Descriptive Terminology goes actually way beyond nouns and entities!
I have authored publications on selected issues of Corpus Linguistics (Neology, Terminology, Lexicography, Computational Linguistics), mostly from a cross-linguistic perspective — Catalan and/or Spanish, then English or French. I have thrived to be regarded as a dedicated full-time colleague, having boosted a range of channels for an enhanced co-operation in my work teams.
