Projects
- Beazley Designs of the Year Awards 2016Together with Matt Schwab (All Things Studio) we designed the trophies for this year's exhibition Designs of The Year for the Design Museum. Our inspiration was the square plan of the museum as well as the hyperbolic paraboloid shape of the roof. The seven trophies 'celebrated' the architecture of the new museum in Kensighton.
- The Orwell Prize 2016While in my second year of university, together with two of my university classmates and collabortors (Tom Morgan and Archie Harding) we entered a competition to design the trophies for the George orwell ceremony. The trhee of us were selected for our design that revolved around the notion of three being one. Symbolising the removal of hierarchy, with each piece being of equal importance to the whole. Formed of concrete, the trophies were broken from a single slab, The categories stand side by side uniting the prize.
- Committee [A]Goldsmiths Design Course, second year project. -ISMS Brief In the ISM project we worked through various phases, and a number of studio exercises that helped us narrate and navigate our ism in the right direction. Testing and evaluating became major priorities in order to design and build a strong system. Our interests were driven by the idea of a 'Synthetic Evolution-ism'. Taking the impression of natural evolution: we made ourselves into becoming a synthetic system of design, embracing mutation via a system of directions and limitations. The ideology that was born within the 'Synthetic Evolution-ism' is the one of interpretive collaboration, a methodology that would be implied in various design fields. We called ourselves 'Committee [A]', a starting point of our evolutionary system that would be passed on, tested and adopted by future Committees. We created our own exhibition as a way to introduce friends and family to our ISM, as well as test the idea of an upcoming Committee [B]. The exhibition was held on November 2015. We decided to divide the exhibition to Room A and Room B; a room devoted to our research, process and ideology, and a second room including interactive tools.
