About me
After graduating from an Illustration course at Falmouth School of Art I joined a graphic communications agency based in London, to get experience of the creative industry and working within a team. This allowed me to develop skills in graphic design, and over time led me to manage the creative output as creative director. A move to the Kent coast prompted the desire to come full circle and focus on illustration. In 2009, I went freelance and began working under the pseudonym of Patrick George. My illustrations are concept-driven, with the simplicity of an idea and its execution being at the core of my work, with the aim of engaging diverse audiences from adults to children. I pride myself on being efficient and responsive. I am also very adept at creating assets that fit within an existing house style if required. Alongside commissions, I also publish my own range of children’s books which I originate, design, illustrate and manage the print. They have been translated into 17 languages and twice nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration, shortlisted for the Best British Book Design Awards and the German Youth Literature Prize.

  • BRAIN SCIENCE

  • LOGOS
LOGOSA selection of logos I've done for clients. The simplicity of an idea is key to creating a graphic that engages an audience, and stands out from the crowd rather than appearing generic.
  • COVERS FOR THE LAST MUSKETEER SERIES BY STUART GIBBS
COVERS FOR THE LAST MUSKETEER SERIES BY STUART GIBBSI was commissioned by HarperCollins to create three cover illustrations for the time travel adventure trilogy from Stuart Gibbs. ‘On a family trip to Paris, fourteen-year-old Greg's parents disappear - not just from the city, but from the century. So he travels through time to rescue them, assuming the identity of a young Musketeer in training, uniting with Athos, Porthos, and Aramis.’
  • YOUR THINKING BODY
YOUR THINKING BODYCover illustration for the New Scientist. Consciousness isn’t just the brain: the body shapes your sense of self. Electrical signals coming from your heart and other organs influence how you perceive the world, the decisions you take, your sense of who you are and consciousness itself.
  • EASPORTS VS FIFA
EASPORTS VS FIFAAn editorial illustration for L’Express in Paris for an article about ‘EA Sports blowing full time on FIFA’ - the long-standing partnership behind the biggest video game on the planet may be coming to an end due to a financial dispute.
