About me
Do you ever think about the personality of a place? I do every day. It starts with a logo or brand, expands into the built environment with signage, and becomes a collaboration with interiors, architecture and landscape. I specialize in guest experiences for healthcare, office, retail, education, entertainment and mixed-use projects. In 2012, I founded Design Samaritan to help others and save valuable resources from the landfill. This social enterprise finds and refurbishes furniture, transforming it into one-of-a-kind home furnishings. Proceeds from the sale of each piece enable furniture to be donated to families transitioning out of homelessness and into a home of their own.
Projects
  • Amelia Island Welcome Center
Amelia Island Welcome CenterAn historic train depot was transformed into a multi-media, interactive welcome experience for visitors to this part of the Sea Islands chain that stretches along the East Coast of the United States from South Carolina to Florida. Design included bringing the brand identity to life with interior space planning, custom millwork, informational graphics, interior and exterior signage as well as souvenir train whistles to announce the arrival of the new landmark.
  • Vintage Chair Reimagined
Vintage Chair ReimaginedGreat bones lurk underneath years of hard use. Starting with repair, the piece comes back to life with a full refinish and new upholstery. The Paul Smith for Maharam stripe was used on the welt for a subtle accent.
