About me

I am a creative director with over 20 years experience as a creative thinker and doer. I develop and explore ideas for the projects I undertake and apply my knowledge into visual concepts that communicate stories and brands into appealing and engaging designs and experiences. I keep up-to-date with a rapidly changing digital and mobile landscape and thrive on creating communications for this environment. Taking words and images and transforming these into narratives that people can relate to is part and parcel of what I do well. My technical knowledge also allows me to better understand the inner workings and architecture of what is being delivered in order to then lay over a presentation layer. My experience spans over large-scale brands such as Volvo, Converse, Samsung, Jaguar LandRover, digital platforms, mobile, broadcast and production. I see myself as resourceful, collaborative team player with a proven ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments with creativity, quality and precision. What keeps me going: - Working hard to see projects through from concept to delivery - Being concise and targeted - forming clarity with a focus on impact - Getting inside a brief and truly understanding what’s needed - Mentor-ship, management and inspiring others around me - Getting my hands dirty and not shying away from problems I believe I can solve myself - Encouraging others to think differently and come up with better solutions - Working on a mix of channels covering print, video, mobile, web, social and event spaces - Grounding my thinking and turning big ideas into things that work in the real world Specialities Creative direction, brand transformation, advertising, digital (social, PPC, campaigns), copy-writing, video, integrated campaigns, pitches and conceptual thinking. Previously, I was CEO of Plaything, a Digital Creative Agency and have held a number of leadership roles including Chief Product & Creative Officer at Video platform, Rockpack and as ECD at Addiction Worldwide. I managed a TV Network for Turner Broadcasting and have been part of teams at numerous digital start-ups. Brands I've worked with include Volvo, Converse, Cartoon Network, Jaguar LandRover, Nike and Grey. Recent awards include multiple Grand Prix and Lions for Volvo Lifepaint and Mumsnet as well as winning the Jaguar LandRover in-car technology hackathon.

    • playth1ng is a design, strategy and innovation studio working out of London, New York, Dubai and Stockholm. My role is to grow the business, drive innovation and creativity with everything we do and scale the company internationally. Aside from our own IP with clear.as and engine, we rebranded and built a state of the art News Studio for TV4 in Sweden and we’ve also created a beautiful online experience for 24 Royal Terrace Hotel?in Edinburgh and have worked with major beer and car brands. W e r e c e n t l y w o n t h e J?a g u a r L a n d R o v e r D e v e l o p e r C h a l l e n g e ?w h i c h a l l o w s m e t o d e l i v e r a new in-car mapping and off-road app for use in Jaguars, Land Rovers and Range Rovers from 2016. Its currently in development and something I’m very excited about.

    • Rockpack is an app that allows people to curate videos from around the web and create highly visual and personalized channels. You can follow channels created by friends or experts to discover the videos you find interesting. I co-founded the app and managed UI, UX and Product. We raised $2m and I exited the business after a second round. An amazing product that really connected curated vlogs and viewers.

Cartoon Network at the time was the number 1 kids channel in the country.
