I am a creative director with over 20 years experience as a creative thinker and doer. I develop and explore ideas for the projects I undertake and apply my knowledge into visual concepts that communicate stories and brands into appealing and engaging designs and experiences. I keep up-to-date with a rapidly changing digital and mobile landscape and thrive on creating communications for this environment. Taking words and images and transforming these into narratives that people can relate to is part and parcel of what I do well. My technical knowledge also allows me to better understand the inner workings and architecture of what is being delivered in order to then lay over a presentation layer. playth1ng is a design, strategy and innovation studio working out of London, New York, Dubai and Stockholm. My role is to grow the business, drive innovation and creativity with everything we do and scale the company internationally. Aside from our own IP with clear.as and engine, we rebranded and built a state of the art News Studio for TV4 in Sweden and we’ve also created a beautiful online experience for 24 Royal Terrace Hotel?in Edinburgh and have worked with major beer and car brands. W e r e c e n t l y w o n t h e J?a g u a r L a n d R o v e r D e v e l o p e r C h a l l e n g e ?w h i c h a l l o w s m e t o d e l i v e r a new in-car mapping and off-road app for use in Jaguars, Land Rovers and Range Rovers from 2016. Its currently in development and something I’m very excited about.
Rockpack is an app that allows people to curate videos from around the web and create highly visual and personalized channels. You can follow channels created by friends or experts to discover the videos you find interesting. I co-founded the app and managed UI, UX and Product. We raised $2m and I exited the business after a second round. An amazing product that really connected curated vlogs and viewers.
Managed my own creative and strategy consulting practise, working Fuse, Disney, Endemol and IMG on IP creating and scale. I raised finance for IP products and sold these internationally.
Creative agency based in London and New York, working with some great people on amazing campaigns. I grew the agency from 15 to 65 people and multiplying revenues significantly, winning some great work along the way.
Leading kids Network Toonami and new on-air and Digital projects across the kids channels, I was also launch Director for Cartoon Network and managed the creative, marketing, promo, presentation and marketing functions for my channels. Cartoon Network at the time was the number 1 kids channel in the country.
Brainspark is a technology incubator and one of the most well-known. I managed investments and strategy for its media fund. We took stakes in 17 companies and housed them on our 20,000 square foot building in Clerkenwell.
