About me
Pedro Portellano is a curator and cultural manager based in Madrid, who works at the intersections between music and visual arts. He has a degree in Psychology, an MBA in Management of Cultural Institutions and a Master in History of Contemporary Art and Visual Culture from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He has worked in institutions such as the Museo Reina Sofía, Matadero Madrid or Studio Tomas Saraceno in Berlin; collaborated with others such as La Casa Encendida, Medialab-Prado or the Instituto Cervantes; and worked on projects such as La noche en blanco, Red Bull Music Academy or Veranos de la Villa. As curator, he has made the exhibitions ‘After silence’, at La Casa Encendida; "Ways to do. Contemporary photography of the CA2M Collection ', for the Community of Madrid, and the installation' White Bouncy Castle 'by William Forsythe for the Palacio de Cibeles of the Madrid City Council. He has been a musical programmer at the Centro Conde Duque de Madrid between 2018 and 2020, of the Veranos de la Villa festival between 2015 and 2019, and currently of the Versiona and Thyssen Appetizers cycles of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. He is the founder and co-curator of the RAYO audiovisual Festival of Cineteca and Matadero Madrid, and a collaborating teacher in the Degree of Arts of the Open University of Catalunya. As a musician, he has founded the music and sound design studio Bruma FX, having worked for brands such as Zara, Ikea or Repsol, and for studios like Pleid Studio Rebeka Aece Studio or Luis Urculo Studio. He publishes his music under the alias Bruma, with which he has released the album “Far From Me” in 2020.
