I'm Penny - a graduating BA (Hons) Photography student at London College of Communication (UAL). Although I'm studying photography, I'm interested in gaining knowledge about the creative industry in a broader sense. I'm a people-person and I'm full of energy, but also diligent and focused. I am genuinely such a hard worker, and even more so when I am working in something I'm passionate about. Every job I have had in the past, has resulted in me being a key member of a team and I've always been congratulated in my ability to learn fast, act professionally, and generally make a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for people to work well in.
At iHeart I recieve the products to be shot for online shopping. Then I prepare and style them ready for them to be photographed and put on the company's website. Some of the clients I have styled for include Harrods, TK Maxx, New Look and Jaeger.
Working as a Sales Assistant for Topman was a great experience. I had a broad range of duties and was regularly congratulated for my customer service. I worked at the front of the store, making sure that the shop floor was spotless, while greeting customers. I also worked on the denim and suiting area, helping individual customers find a size and cut that was perfect for them. I was great at working on the tills, because I kept a cool head when there were long ques or a customer was unhappy and always worked at a thorough pace while still giving the customer a positive and professinoal expereience.
I assisted the stylists at Burberry E-commerce, recieving the products, and prepare them ready to be styled. I also collected the kit for the Stylist, dependant on what we were photographing that day. I then liaised with the photographer to make sure the coding of the product was correct, and that I kept track of any notes specific to that product. Throughout the day, I kept count of shots and carefully repackaged the luxury items. At the end of the day, I made sure everything had been shot to a high quality and cleared up the set ready for the next day.
Working at Ben Sherman for nearly two years, really allowed me to excel in my job. I built up relationships with regular customers in my team and became a natural at working with different kinds of people and giving the customers fantastic service, adhering to their every need. Other colleagues of mine, would often ask for me for advice and we worked fantastically as a team. Together we made the shop look very tidy and proffessinal, making sure stock of every size was out on the floor. We made the customers feel welcome and served them on the till with great care and professionalism.
