I currently work at the BBC helping to create and organise a new video
archive system for live productions to use. I regularly use my organisational
skills as we attempt to operate the system under deadlines and test it at the
same time. This can result in the system crashing, requiring us to change our
workflow in response. I attend virtual team meetings to discuss goals, progress
and test results. This role utilizes my test and learn mindframe as we seek to
push the system’s capabilities and respond to failures.

Video and Motion designSelf Employed

While working as a freelance digital designer I created social media content
and internal communications for clients such as Hamleys, Mattel and
Nintendo UK. An example of this content would be 2D animations created
within a house style and targeting the chosen demographic of children and
families. In this role I regularly created content that would be adapted for a
variety of platforms, this requires an understanding of the upload requirements
of each platform. Such as creating a design that is adaptable for both portrait
and landscape screens. While freelancing, I enjoyed the creative discussions I
had with clients and found my communication skills developed and my
confidence in meetings increased. For example, I always strive to leave a
discussion with a clarity of what has been asked of me and the goals that
have been determined. I have completed projects in fast-paced
environments, sometimes discussing and viewing footage in the morning and
completing an entire video edit in the afternoon. I also created entertainment
for large Youtube networks and motion graphics for small businesses. An
on-going requirement of working with Youtube networks is quality assurance,
keeping a sharp eye on content and making sure high-standards are
maintained through several intensive tests and checks for consistency and
quality. I am very comfortable to receive critique and feedback on my work
and to make changes accordingly.
