Peter M. Wilson was born in North Yorkshire, England. He went to London to study for a BA (hons) degree in Photography and Film. Soon after graduating he moved to Lisbon, Portugal, where he photographed a project examining social and religious rituals. A major exhibition of his work entitled ‘Ritual in Portugal’ was shown at The Barbican Centre in London. He began shooting assignments in the fields of travel, editorial and photojournalism. His commissioned and published photography includes work for leading publications, such as The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Telegraph, Conde Nast Traveller, National Geographic and Vogue. He has also shot many titles in the Dorling Kindersley Eye Witness Travel Guides series. His work has taken him to countries across Latin America, Europe, North America, Australia, North Africa, The Middle East and Asia.
