About me
Hi and thank you for checking out my profile. I’ve been an advertising creative for over twenty years, a journey that has taken me from junior Art Director with US agency Chiat/Day to Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi London. I now freelance as part of a creative team, rupertandphil.com, which has given me the opportunity to work on a variety of projects from global pitches to social posts. As a creative team, we have some regular clients that have made us their first port of call - which is nice. But always keen to grow that fan base! Always up for a challenge, if you have one, feel free to get in touch. 2022 saw us popping up all over the place - Ogilvy, Now, Fold7, 23red, AML, Snap London, draftLine (Anheuser-Busch’s internal agency), and Karmarama (which changed its name to Accenture Song while we were there). We helped Fold7 win the global pitch for Carlsberg, we wrote a global campaign for Prudential’s asset management company (PGIM), and we helped out on a VERY last minute social campaign for The World Cup, as well as a bunch of other briefs for BT, BP, Barclays, Budweiser, bagels, and blood donation. It was a good year for the Bs. 2021: We had just three jobs in 2021 - but they were all good long stints. We helped Havas with the global pitch for Honor phones (they won), we spent a few months at Wunderman Thompson helping them sort out Shell’s comms for the next few years (quite a challenge), and we finished the year at Pablo writing and making six 90s TVCs for a joint NatWest and ITV project with Alison Hammond (she’s just like she is on the telly). Oh, and Cadbury ran our Secret Santa campaign again (its fourth Christmas - they’re definitely getting their money’s worth). 2020 wasn't a great year, but 2019 was more like it, with spells at Fold7, BBH, O&M, Kindred, and a few smaller agencies. We helped Fold7’s Probably Not Carlsberg campaign win The Drum and Marketing Week's campaign of the year, got a Weetabix radio ad into Campaign’s best of 2019 (number 5), had our 2018 Secret Santa campaign re-used by Cadbury, and we finished the year with a nomination for Yuno Juno’s best freelance team award.
