About me

London based harper, composer and experimental musician. Drawing from roots in Irish and Scottish traditional music to influences spanning contemporary classical, jazz, electronic and sound design, Philippa Godsalve’s compositions are varied and unique. The Clarsach (folk harp) features often in her work as a solo instrument or alongside synths and drones as a conduit for shimmering soundscapes and effects. Philippa has a curious, intuitive and responsive approach to writing and producing music which lends itself to collaborative projects including film composing, audiovisual works, and improvisatory live performance. Available for collaborations and freelance projects with a particular interest in building a showreel for shorts and animations.

• DiurnalDiurnal is an audiovisual work by Philippa Godsalve filmed in Tokyo in 2017 and composed in December 2020 using a combination of synths and field recordings. Unsettling drone complicates the banal images of city drudgery.
• The Metamorphic RainbowA 2D animation loop by Leigh Salvage, music by Philippa Godsalve. Joyful polyrhythmic layers drive the movement of the visuals while the sweet tones of the harp compliment the gorgeous dreamy colours. Influenced by minimalist music, polyrhythm features in a number of Philippa’s harp compositions.
• Secret Yoga ClubLive performance and promotional content music for a wellness event in collaboration with Secret Yoga Club and WeWork. Credit also to Simone Salvatici - music therapist, musician and composer who features in this video.
