About me
Through my work I create a community. I believe it is important to provoke thought, challenge pre-conceived ideas and increase social awareness of societal and political issues. I seek to encourage change.
I’m the founder of100 Women I Know, an inclusive organisation initiating open conversation on sexual violence run by survivors for survivors.
100 Women I Know started with a research project for a documentary I directed, produced and edited. 100 young women were asked about their experiences of rape and sexual assault. The results give a blunt, honest, unapologetic and emotional account of the realities that women face. The documentary went on to circulate film festivals internationally and pick up two awards.
Alongside the film, came the book. The 100 Women I Know book chronicles accounts of rape and sexual assault, and aims to broaden our collective understanding of sexual violence.
Throughout this process I started an Instagram account @100womeniknow, where I aim to empower our community and encourage survivor solidarity. Over the last two years I have organically grown a community of over 13k.
Realising the need to bring our community offline and offer safe spaces for people to connect IRL I have since gone on to produce and curate both large scale events and intimate participatory sessions. These awareness events open honest discussions on sex, consent, sexual violence, patriarchy, gender, and more. We look at the causes and and consequences of rape and sexual assault and offer platform to incredible change makers . We have collaborated with brands including Bumble, OHNE and Soho House & Co.
Alongside this I have delivered talks and spoken on various panel discussions, including WAH nails, Women Of Power, FGrls Club, Venus Libido’s ‘Girls Help’ and Cambridge University.
