Together with my work partner Viola Renate, we form the visual artist duo Pinar&Viola. Our office creates contemporary images which set the fashion of today’s visuals, working with brands and industries who are the leaders in their line of expertise. We forecast future trends in their sector and revamp their visual language to make them stay more relevant to the contemporary. Our devotion to planetary and social justice shines itself through in our creations. We use the power and charm of the image to create stylistic socially engaged utopias.
Projects
- Sports posters for AdidasWe were asked by Adidas HQ to rejuvenate their archival imagery. We digitally hand crafted contemporary sports posters where adidas athletes come together in a ground with no space, time and gender. This project was meant to go on the walls of their flagship store, in New York, yet because of change of direction, they remained as an internal vision-inspiration for Adidas.
- Music Video for DiploIn 2011, Diplo's management commissioned us to make an album cover and a msuic video for his hit "GO". Driven by the hypnotic song, we created a data-mosh animation where greyhounds race trough a vibrantly odd WWW-landscape, with a hand-crafted virtual parkour in ecstatic browsers and buttons, viral internet-icons and digital dust windstorms.
- Pinar&Viola for MTVWe made the Mother Earth come alive in MTV and give her universal wisdom to viewers, while inviting us to rise up and meet the current environmental crisis through a heightened planetary awareness. This project is originally made for the COP21, the ecology summit which took place in Paris December 2015, as a highly aesthetical response to the problem of our time – climate change.
