About me

Hello! My name is Piotr and I’m an illustrator, graphic artist and graphic designer based in Derry, Northern Ireland. Coming from a graphic design background, I have over 8 years of experience in the creative industry under my belt. Throughout my career, I’ve had a chance to work with big names such as LV=, Benenden Health, Wealth Wizards and Santander Digital. While happy with how my career has progressed so far, in the recent years I have devoted the majority of my time into specialising in the field of illustration. This felt like a natural progression, merging aspects of graphic design and artistic expression. Most of my illustrations are inspired by personal experiences, music and humour. I enjoy experimenting with various styles and try to challenge myself with each piece. Passionate and enthusiastic, I am always on the lookout for the next exciting project to help me push my creative boundaries.

  Fabulous LionI think the reason why a group of lions is called “the pride” is because they don’t bow to anyone and walk tall among other animals. Be proud of how fabulous you are!
• Trusted SteedFun fact, unicorns are fluffy. So fluffy you can't handle it. They are also an ideal choice if you require a trusted steed.
• YAWNIs it bored? Is it tired? Is it angry?! A zebra like creature that resembles a hobby horse. The design features hand lettered typography.
• New Year ResolutionAt the beginning of 2018, I've produced a series of illustrations portraying four things I wanted to focus on moving forward. I have also used this opportunity to have a go at hand-lettering for the first time.
• Slave to TechnologyAn illustration reflecting on the state of the modern world - a critical look at the way humans sometimes abuse technology.
• Bob The BlobBob is a special blob who likes to be covered in black goo and sneak behind people’s back. He doesn’t smell too well though, so it’s tough for him.

Day-to-day tasks within Wurkhouse are primarily based on print design, branding, brand application, online application prototyping, illustration and storyboarding for animated videos. As a senior designer, I have been given an increased measure of responsibility for my work. Presenting concepts to clients and suggesting alternative solutions while maintaining exceptional quality standards is also an important part of the job. Employment at Wurkhouse requires a measure of comfort working within a large and highly productive team in a fast-paced environment. Collaborations with designers and marketers are commonplace as well as working independently when the situation requires it.

For a period of one year, Wurkhouse assigned one of our biggest clients to me - the insurance company ‘LV=’ - to be conducted in a managerial role. This involved organising and delegating work to team members for deadlines, alongside quality control. Throughout my time working with ‘LV=’, my individual contributions, aided by my skills to various campaigns and applications, won or were shortlisted for financial business awards such as Moneyfacts and B2B Awards.
