About me
I am a creative and commercial Senior knit and jersey wear Design Consultant. I adore my industry and love nothing more than the excitement of a new sample arriving, when an idea becomes reality. I am inspired by everything from the deconstructed beauty that is Elana Herzog's work to the absolute simplicity of Frank O'Gehrys nesting chairs. Delicate vintage fabrics and embellishment also touch me, as do clean and modern fabrications and cut. I love working with colour and have worked successfully on trend, themes and colour palettes in the various roles I have had. I am also driven by the thrill of great design having commercial success, and the excitement of a new season ahead in our ever changing industry. Consequently, I am a very versatile designer who is confident designing for a broad range of brand handwritings.
I have worked as a freelancer and employee for both suppliers and retail, high street and luxury levels, so have a strong understanding of the demands across the industry. This enables me to combine creativity and commerciality to achieve the best design for the best price. I am an effective communicator with experience of managing relationships upwards and across supporting roles from sourcing to marketing. I have extensive technical experience and can create detailed tech packs for fully fashioned-machine knitwear; as well as hand knits, crochet, embellishment and embroidery. I can engineer product into margin, fit garments and have strong range-building skills. I have well established working relationships with key industry suppliers in the Far East, and really enjoy working closely with the factories to create the best possible product.
