About me
My name is Qianhui Yu. I am an Animation Director, Creative designer, currently living in London, specialized in making playful character design and background design, also enthusiastic about making creative advertising visual design practices. Graduated from Royal College of Art in 2020 with a MA in Animation, received Continuation Fund from Royal College of Art in 2019. She has painting and new media art educated background, achieved her BFA in Open Media Lab from China Academy of Art. With strong innovative ability, cross-border thinking, communication skills and the ability to cope with different styles of visual design, I can provide creative ideas and visual production for the team. I am a very friendly, approachable, patient and responsible, hard-working person, and good at communicating with others, with strong organizational ability and adaptability. My living experience in different cultural background made me accept more international ideas and vision, have a better understanding of innovation. For the job, I have the fully ambition, enthusiasm and energy to do it. I will devote all my enthusiasm and energy into working. I won’t shirk responsibility, cooperating with the team, and always finish my work from the beginning til the end. In the future I hope I can produce more creative art works and implement them on specific projects.

    Visibility0.0001This project is a virtual reality animation,I made it during I was having the VR workshop.I designed it for Chinese smog,the problem of Chinese smog continues to grow,so I want to built a amusement park in the haze,let people experienced the feeling when they walk in an area surrounding with Chinese haze.They can left a lantern,walk on the wooden bridge, but they can't foresee what would come in front of them.

    VIRUS-ANTISOCIALA project about how bacterial virus translated into network virus.Illustrate how internet controlled our life and destroy it. At the beginning,I was confused about how should I express my idea in the animation which took me a long time, After I saw the artist Shishi Yamazaki's animation,I did referred to her drawing patterns,and made my digital painting more lively.

    Attended discussion event 'Animators in Conversation: Fiction versus Reality'Royal College of Art / Imperial College London
    Me and three other animation directors discussed our collection of animated films and explorations into VR in a panel chaired by Betsy Dadd. We will explore the push and pull between fiction and reality in their work which spans the extremities of fantasy, memory, narrative, the everyday and absurdist documentary.
