About me
I am a final year Textile Design student at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in Surface Pattern Design. Graduating in July 2017. I am an enthusiastic and self-motivated print designer who has a keen eye for colour and a drive to create bold innovative prints. I have an attentive eye for detail and excellent research abilities. Experimenting in the print room is where I feel I am at my most creative and where I believe my designs come to life. I also enjoy taking these designs into photoshop and developing them further into digital prints. I am currently seeking Graduate Internship to continue developing my skills and knowledge within the industry. Please feel free to contact me.
Projects
  • Above
AboveI came across Bernhard Langs Harbour aerial photography whilst carrying out contextual research for project 2. His work really caught my eye and sparked my imagination, with bright colours and bold shapes. I believed his work could be the basis to a really exciting project and it was. My aim during this project was to create an innovative and bold fashion collection, inspired by the Retro era, visualised for high-street market level for S/S 2017.
  • Abstruse - Phase 1
Abstruse - Phase 1My aims and objectives for this project are to create an androgynous hand printed fashion collection aimed at high end fashion for Autumn/Winter 18/19. Throughout this project I wanted to push boundaries within my work and develop the accuracy of my printing. To develop this project further I am now looking at printing on heavy wool and leathers to create a new mood and feel within my prints.

Abstruse | Difficult to understand; obscure [Adjective] /əb’stru:s/ A modern take on the Cubist movement, with an emphasis on bold structured shapes abstracted from our surroundings to ultimately create an androgynous collection of fashion prints for Spring / Summer 2018. By drawing inspiration from fine artists as well as 21st century fashion, I aim to blur the lines between fashion and art showing how they can work together as one.
