Projects
- WACL - Gather 2017 I recently volunteered to help organise an event with WACL called ‘Gather 2017’ which is an event dedicated to women in communications and advertising and is run every year to inspire women to help progress in their career no matter of the barriers they may have. This is an event where there are 500 candidates’ volunteers from the media industry and there are VIP speakers throughout the day who talk on their previous experiences and how to overcome set back, and tips to gain confidence in the workplace. I had to help organise the volunteers, order products from our sponsors for goody bags, make sure the speakers arrived on time and escorted them from the green room to the stage as well as helping out on tea and lunch breaks. This required great organisation and preparation skills to make sure the volunteers had a schedule for the day ahead and were kept busy so the event ran smoothly and the candidates had a good time. I received very positive feedback from the speakers in particular ‘Dame Stephanie Shirley’ who is a pioneering women in business and all the candidates who though it was professionally handled. I enjoyed the running of this event and it inspired me to get more involved in this side of business.
