Rachelle Cox is a visual artist from the North East of England, based in London; using her practice as a rejection of cultural assimilation of the hetero-patriarchy and class patriotism - through the lense of her own lived experiences as a queer, working-class femxle. In doing so, Cox aims to make space for accessible education and queer visibility for the viewer through satire and ignorant style; closely working with photography, painting and digital media. Cox believes that art has the possibility for accessible discussions, engaging education and political awakenings that help strive for impactful change. Ultimately, Cox’s work is about creating a heterotopic space of queer dreaminess and pathos, existing outside of the realms of the white, cishet middle - upper class. @rach.e.lle
We Built This City is an artist souvenir shop revolutionising the way people consume momentum goods. We represent over 250 local UK artists and host artist residencies within our shop. My job is to get to know the artists and their work and sell them to customers. I welcome customers into the shop, answer their questions about art and have a chat to them about the wonderful city of London.
