Design Techniciantheprint.co.uk
- London, United KingdomFull Time
Since graduating I have been work for theprint.co.uk where I have been in charge of vinyl cutting, 3D printing/modelling whilst also having roles in the graphic design and laser cutting elements of the business. My skills have greatly improved during my time here such as working with clients and working to a professional standard to a deadline. Together we have done numerous prestigious works for the likes of Damien Hirst and the Tate Modern gallery. But I would like to develop other sides of my design portfolio and there is not much room to grow here.

- Roskilde, DenmarkInternship
My last placement took place in Roskilde University, Denmark. As part of the intern team in the FabLab, I assisted students and members of the general public with the queries and design problems. We would also instruct them how to properly and safely use prototyping machinery such as laser cutters, CNC machines and Arduinos. I also created, took and lead workshops and exhibitions to do with the Fab Lab and the work possible there.

Product Design Engineering 2.1 (BDes)Brunel University
- Uxbridge, United Kingdom
In the 3 years I spent at Brunel University, my skills were tested in a variety of fields. From structural static analysis to large scale interactive infographics and wearable technology, I have at least dipped my toes if not fully immersed myself in different stages of the design process and practice. Graphic design is what got me initially interested in design and still drives a lot of my love for it today. I spend some of my free time experimenting with printing techniques, exploring a use of repetition, layering and colour. Contextual design thinking is also something I found a lot of joy in, the imaginative rebranding and creation of new products and strategies within existing brand constraints was found to be an enjoyable challenge, that demanded a lot but also repaid itself greatly with useful knowledge and enjoyable experiences. My degree included an optional work placement which I undertook, completing 3 short term placements across Europe and the design practices. I learnt invaluable skills, made lifelong connections and grew significantly as a person.
