My Name is Rachel McLean, and I am a Fashion Designer with 9yrs industry experience and a BA Hons Fashion Design and Marketing degree.
My most recent role was a Fashion Project Assistant for an international company, where I worked on the development of a new label, reporting directly to The company Director. I created designs for six ranges, including Knitwear, womenswear, Menswear, Plus- sized clothing and accessories. In the past, I have worked as a Freelance Fashion Designer, Sewing Instructor and was the owner of my own label form 2013 to 2018
In addition to design via hand illustration and CAD, I have strong knowledge of garment construction, including pattern cutting, draping, sewing and fitting.

An International company providing a diverse range of services to aid in the expansion of companies between Britain and China. I worked independently on the development of a new clothing label, including menswear, womenswear and accessories, reporting to the company director.
My Key duties at P&Y International Services Solutions Ltd:
Devise a market research strategy and research the macro and micro-environment, target consumers in Britain and China as well as evaluations on competing brands for each range, through primary and secondary research.
Originate design concepts and refine them through extensive research. Document and present them via PowerPoint and Google Slides.
Created initial designs and developments and delivered them to the Director via presentations with research and inspiration.
Fabricate and develop samples- pattern cutting, draping, sewing and lay-planning.
Achievements:
At the knitting and stitching show in Feb 2019, I designed and executed visual merchandising for the stand to showcase artisanal products and created the system custom services which received glowing reviews. I used my skills in retail to achieve 80% of sales during the three-day exhibition.
