I am currently studying for an MA in Design, Innovation and Brand Management at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA), giving me vital opportunities to develop my professional and design skills, as well as my managerial capabilities. Throughout this course I have had the opportunity to explore all aspects of design projects and brand management using innovation as the fundamental tool.
For my current Major Project I am collaborating with a UK-based cosmetic company, called Karium Ltd. The company is to launch a new brand which involves the production of soaps considering all sustainability aspects possible. This new brand will follow Karium’s ethics, philosophies, values and beliefs. My role is to create the brand identity (including name, logo and packaging design) for them, reflecting their philosophy and their contribution to the environment. This project has not only given me a deep insight into the value of branding in today’s competitive market, but also the need to differentiate by producing one-of-a-kind products and services. Furthermore, having previously gained a BA in Economics it was a great opportunity for me to put theory into practice and to work on a real design project in the UK market.
Design was also an area of interest during my undergraduate studies, as I was working as a conceptual designer for Lena Diamanti Tattoos in Volos, Greece. Through this experience I learned how to communicate effectively with clients and peers and also to work under the pressure to meet deadlines. It was also a great opportunity for me to experiment with new styles and techniques.
