BA Fine ArtUniversity of Cape Town Michaelis School of Fine Art

I graduated with distinction in Fine Art 4. Throughout my undergraduate studies at UCT, I received three class medals and a place on the Humanities Faculty’s Dean’s Merit List. As my final year thesis project, I created a photo-book, portrait series and installation titled IQHINA (The Knot), for which I received two awards: the Michaelis Prize, awarded to the most outstanding body of work produced by a 4th year student in the year, as well as the Simon Gerson Prize. Bolstered by my imaginative yet pragmatic approach to theory and practice, my studies at the Michaelis School of Fine Art have equipped me with technical and theoretical foundation to contribute my perspective and vision in any creative space in the world. The accolades that I received throughout my undergrad from the Michaelis School of Fine Art are a testimony to my ability to combine the idealistic and practical aspects of my work – from the conception of an idea to its successful implementation.
