Graphic Designer, Arkadin [July 2014 - Current] After only a few months at Arkadin, I had already seen my role develop progressively. Upon joining my initial remit was to establish and develop a Design studio for the EMEA region. I have initiated and have managed processes to aid the efficiency of the department. including creating a concise briefing sheet and design processes guide. Detailing the fundamental steps in requesting design to support and inspire marketing campaigns. Arkadin have recently undergone a brand refresh. With this my role now also includes working closely with the Corporate Marketing team and Corporate Design studio. This has led to a heavy involvement in Brand Management, particularly with regard to reviewing creative work produced by our third party suppliers. Arkadin has several offices Globally and marketing collateral is produced to facilitate them all. I have created design work for all of the EMAE region but also a large body of work for our offices in Asia and Russia, with overseeing the brand collateral updates in these regions. Responsibilities / Achievements: • Creation of website concepts, liaising with clients to amend and approve concepts • Design and creation of web and print collateral including web banners and email creation • Liaising with Sales and external client representatives on marketing design campaigns • Working directly with the marketing team on internal marketing campaigns across varied media • Regional and global brand management • Close collaboration with Regional marketing teams in terms of logistics in organising events and relevant promotion avenues for our clients.
Graphic Designer/ Web Designer , Iris Software, Websmiths division [May 2013 – June 2014] Producing mock-up website designs for our clients to approve, this is initially done with some very basic functionality. This is to give clients a better understanding of how their site will work as well as establishing the look and feel of the website, where you have to pay particular attention the User Interface and the User experience. In a similar way that you would with print, and understanding your target audience. I have also received some additional training on Adobe Fireworks. This has helped to elevate my skill set further, and enhance my understanding of the practicalities of designing for the web. Responsibilities / Achievements: • Creation of website concepts, liaising with clients to amend and approve concepts • Project management of clients while creating concepts and delivery of these ideas • Created iconography for a sub-division of Iris for a new product launch
Graphic Designer, Bluefin [January 2012 – May 2013] For the last 13 months I have been working for Bluefin who are corporate pension consultants. The company works in several areas of the financial sector. This means that the collateral we produce for both internal and external clients is varied. Since arriving I have identified and created improved procedures to improve the design team’s productivity. This in turn has had a positive reflection on efficiency, but also from a creative point of view, as the design team can now allocate more time to producing innovative creative design. A lot of the work I create for external clients involves working across varied media. The design of pensions benefits collateral, from creating brochures and Zip cards, to producing email campaigns and banners. Responsibilities / Achievements: • Design and production of Capita web and print collateral including web banners and email creation • Liaising with Sales and external client representatives on marketing design campaigns • Working directly with the marketing team on internal marketing campaigns across varied media • Responsible when working with sensitive financial information • Creating innovative design for many high end clients, Including – Three, Yahoo, ABN Amro and Amazon. • Training of support staff to use and understand InDesign and its functions to a competent level so support staff can complete simple artwork tasks • Consultant and Led designer to the Bid Team giving guidance on how to engage potential clients through design and how clear productive, exciting visuals can do this • Presenting at internal seminars to support staff and running training sessions in the use of presentation templates to our nationwide offices
Freelance Design [October 2010 – January 2012] Since leaving The Bespoke Agency, I have started working freelance, which has led to some interesting opportunities. I have designed artwork for window displays and exhibition work for events. In addition I have also produced artwork for press adverts. I have also completed Intensive and careful retouching of photography taken for various studios. As well as producing website designs and brand updates of corporate stationary and print collateral. Responsibilities / Achievements: • Project management of design and delivery of subscriber emails sent weekly, fortnightly and monthly • Front end website updates and maintaining the site • Designed Print graphics and promotional work for Staples catalogues
