About me
Textile design student at the university of Huddersfield. I love creating woven and latch hooked pieces with chunky woollens. I’m always drawing, creating illustrations. Fascinated by Scandinavian design, prints by Marimekko and Josef Frank. Antoni Gaudí’s use of colour and detail is inspiring.

Being involved with the creation of room sets has taught myself skill I completely under valued. How to use a drill correctly, the best way to paint efficiently with a paint roller, and most importantly how to be more functional and direct with room layout. I have gained knowledge and experience, minimalising and alternatively maximalising a space for unique living situations for customers of all ages. The hardest material given to remember are the different style groups and expressions, which are broken into 4 group: Scandinavian modern, Scandinavian traditional, Popular modern and Popular traditional. Over seeing the interior designers use AutoCAD with in the office has been a great learning opportunity, asking an abundance of questions about the software. Being exposed to a fast pace interior design climate has given me the opportunity to take on a variety of different tasks daily. I can spend one day hemming sets of curtains for rooms sets and sometimes the morning painting units, usually in the afternoon I am using sato price guns/scanners to help write off products from the sales floor, to be used under ‘mechanical maintenance’ and put in display in various rooms.

Cutting rolls of fabric, sewing/ironing on labels, tidying, organising and making the pop-up shop at the mill look presentable for customers. Whilst working with Wallace#Sewell at the mill, finishing each product to the highest standard was always the most important part of the job. Getting it ready for sale within the shop or to be finally packaged for overseas and UK orders. Experience working with order forms, packaging and making sure everything is in place for delivery has been a really key learning experience, everything organised ready for shipment on time. Working in the pop-up shop has been a great way to meet new people and to sell and take payments using an iPad app has been a fun way of shop keeping.
