Les Mills UK is a licenser of group exercise programmes in the UK, South Africa, Russia and Iceland. In the last two years large scale events have been added as a marketing exercise to introduce new instructors to the 18 different programmes, drive gym licence sales and enhance the consumer experience and connection with the brand. As event manager I am responsible for the long term event strategy, the detailed organisation of individual events and building a dedicated social following for the event series. The events range from stands at fitness expos, to roadshows across the country and our big events which as an example would be 3000 people all working out for a day at Alexandra Palace (imagine a rock concert except with weights and a lot of lycra). In this role I co-ordinate multiple teams, overseeing and approving all marketing content (on and offline), advertising and social media. Responsibilities include: Managing multiple overlapping projects for different internal stakeholders, bringing large events in on budget while meeting the expectations of external sponsors. On the day management of up to 100 crew ensuring that they not only undertake their assigned tasks but also that they are living the brand values. Achievements include: Bring the large events in under budget for the first time ever. Minimising the impact of events on BAU for the company.
