Illustration & Visual Media student at UAL (University Arts London)
A multi-disciplinary artist who practices illustration, photography and animation. My art explores themes of cultural identity and domesticity. As a creator, I am fascinated with the notion of elevating the mundane and in portraying moments not as they are but how they could be. I am looking to work with a creative organisation whose ethos lines up with my values for ecological sustainability and human connection.

Throughout my past two years of studying illustration in UAL, I have changed and grown as an artist and image-maker, from continuing to explore themes of cultural identity but also diving into new interests of sustainability and environmental activism. Last year, I created an informative 2 minute illustrated animation about the causes and effects of climate change with a closer look of the fast fashion industry.

During my Fine Art Foundation year, I developed an acute interest for photography and videography. Inspired by the diaristic works of artists Nobuyoshi Araki, Ren Hang and Derek Jarman, my final major project was a video titled My Life in 5 Colours. This was a chronological audio file of various stages of my life from Childhood (white), First Love (Red), Moving Away (G), Teenage Parties (Blue), Present Uncertainty (Yellow).
Another one of my self-initiated projects was a photography series titled Ode to Red - a visual love letter to the culturally significant colour as somebody who is ethnically Chinese but grew up in a Western environment.
