Runner up in Shelter X Graduate Fashion Foundation competitionDe Montfort University
This gave me the opportunity to display my work during graduate fashion week at the Coals Drops Yard in Kings cross.
I entered the competition as I wanted to use my creative skill to help raise awareness and educate myself and others on social issues. I hope to do more fashion activism in the future!
My campaign encourages the public and government to "humanise the homeless".Throughout my research I read stories of those struggling to find a home being treated "like numbers or animals" by the council. I also focused on issues such as the dehumanising nature of hostile architecture and injures that those without shelter struggle with.
