The concept for my Final Major Project looks at brutalist architecture and the primarily negative connotations attached to it. I hope to reverse these ideas by looking beyond the grey concrete walls and into the homes of the people living within, while exploring the hidden beauty of this practical architectural style. I am particularly drawn to a bright, bold and geometric way of working. I have been exploring digitally printed fabrics that are layered with screen printing techniques such as foil, vinyl and pigment. Throughout FMP I have enjoyed exploring new techniques such as stencil screen printing as an alternative way to translate my designs onto fabric, as well as digitally printed fabrics.
Work history
Studio InternRIXO
- London, United KingdomInternship
During my internship at RIXO London I predominately worked closely with the founders to re-draw and amend CAD print files to their specification ready for production. I also created promotional material for their site such as sale graphics, as well as helping with press and social media tasks. This fast paced exciting environment is one I feel I thrived in.
