Reporting to the Creative Director I manage the VICE studio and the studio team, overseeing digital or printed content and projects across all internal departments for all VICE channels. Working with Vice Brand Solutions and the Sales teams to manage projects for clients and brand partners – acting as the main point of contact for artwork for ongoing retained clients. Responsible for creating project plans and overseeing delivery of complex digital and print projects. Managing the workflow of the entire studio & creative teams and direct line management of three team members. • Ironed out and implemented internal and external work flow processes • Scoping project requirements – small and large jobs and projects • Responsible for managing studio budget and ensuring profitability • Liaising with clients to help drive clear outputs for a concise design brief • Scheduling-in all booked design jobs, foreseeing and planning for amends • Identifying dependencies and resourcing needs, managing the teams workflow on a daily / weekly / monthly basis • Liaising with the client and designer throughout the project lifecycle to make sure milestones were hit on time, and client expectations managed • Reporting to, and attending planning meeting with department heads • Implementing new strategies including opening up more positive channels of communication between departments, studio team, internal clients and stakeholders.
Working within the online department, I managed digital content and projects across all departments. Responsible for creating project plans and overseeing delivery of complex digital creative productions for campaigns including; Hello Beautiful, Selfridges Christmas 2013 & 2014, The Selfridges Sales 2014, Festival of Imagination, and the new season launches. I oversaw and manage digital projects including The Eflridges Computer Game, video productions for brand partners including Chanel and Cartier, creative photoshoots, radio streaming, and regular site refreshes, while managing the workflow of a team of in-house and freelance designers and developers. I worked on the Selfridges Website redesign project, to plan and audit content, and developed then implemented a plan for migration of existing creative content. I produced various digital assets and marketing materials, microsite builds, weekly site refreshes, content spots and module updates, mobile content, and emails. I am responsible for liaising between studio, editorial, design, marketing and trading teams, and also freelance staff, web host-company, specialist production companies, and agencies while overseeing the department’s project management system. I also managed the sign off process between brands and internal departments, ensuring the development QA process takes place. • Working closely with developers, designers & copy editors on/offsite. • Excellent communication skills, both client facing & working with stakeholders. • Hiring and managing freelancers, and overseeing resource budget. • Traffic Management, implementing weekly stand-ups and creative team meeting schedules. Developed a content strategy for leading independent record label, including content creation for social networks and podcast / video campaigns. Responsible for producing a variety of music & online video projects, and managing varied partnerships & relationships for the UK’s leading online youth broadcaster. Series producer for established content strands and also developed new formats for the successful online channel, achieving an increase in viewership and improved quality output during my time in this role, while implementing new company and project management systems, databases and improved management of staff and resources. Created sponsored content, varied assets and managed several integrated campaigns for SBTV, working with sport, fashion, music and lifestyle clients including NCS, Puma, Ibiza Rocks, Redbull, Nike and most of the major record labels. The role helped to grow my contacts: liaising with artists, management, brands, record companies, brand clients and other production companies on a daily basis. Managed the broadcast schedule and music channel guide, ensuring all areas were equally represented through scheduling choices. Produced and directed around 200 video edits and several series, owning planning, and managing budget and production right through to the videos going live. Also oversaw the marketing of online content and developed working relationships with other media organisations and platforms.
Worked with partner organisations and SJM Tours to produce the national tour, and to contract and coordinate talent. Worked alongside tour manager to plan event production, tour logistics and administration. Responsible for project budget, managing regional partners, venues, staff and volunteers, organising daily workshops, seminars, and music events while supporting media partners and PR with marketing campaign.
Worked with five specialist curators programming and managing multi-artform creative learning and professional development projects and events at the Barbican Centre and Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Over a 4 year period with the organisation, I progressed from Admin/Programme Assistant, where I was responsible for duties ranging from bookkeeping, project admin, collation of reporting project data, to Programme Coordinator, supporting the Programme Manager with planning, delivery, administration and evaluation of the company’s artistic programme & various Arts Council funded projects. Projects were predominately aimed at engaging young people, NEETS and hard to reach BAME communities in East London, and were funded by grants and local government. From 2010-11 as Office & Studio Coordinator, I was responsible for the project management of new recording studio build funded by London 2012 Development Fund and the business relocation to new premises, while overseeing the company’s administration systems, artist development programme and outreach projects. I implemented new systems and managed a team of young creatives, volunteers and freelancers. I implemented new management, reporting and administration systems, and built new and strengthened existing partnerships and business relationships.
