About me
I am an upbeat, confident Australian who has recently moved to London to pursue a life in the United Kingdom. I am lucky enough to be a dual citizen in Australia and Italy and am extremely passionate about human connection and culture formed by our history. I see this move as a marvelous opportunity to expand my knowledge of the English culture and an even greater opportunity to grow as an individual. I have extensive customer service experience and am eager to pursue a career in Event Management. I am passionate about bringing people together as it creates a platform for people from all walks of life to connect and show each other the beauty in our diversity. Because of this passion, I am always striving to deliver sensational customer service. I treat everyone with whom I deal as though they are a VIP and only when they truly feel as though they are, do I feel I’ve successfully done my job. I believe the difference between delivering mediocre customer service and exceptional customer service is all within the finer details. People may not always remember what you have said, but they will always remember how you made them feel. I am confident in working both autonomously and as a team player. I believe that I have the potential to be a valuable member of your team and would welcome the opportunity to discuss my application in more detail during an interview.

ReceptionistThe Rubens at The Palace Hotel
    London, United KingdomFull Time
As a hotel receptionist, one of the key roles is checking guests in and out in accordance with the law and the hotels 5 star standards. However, more importantly, it is the receptionist’s responsibility to receive, organise and meet all guests requests and enquiries. I must be constantly demonstrating my strong communication skills whilst liaising with other hotel departments in order to successfully arrange the guest's requests in a timely manner. At The Rubens, they pride themselves on their tiny noticeable touches. Each shift it is my responsibility to find out why the guests are staying with us in London. It is then up to myself to arrange something unique and personalised for the guest during their stay. Gestures can range from birthday balloons to romantic turndowns. This philosophy of going above and beyond is something that I would definitely apply when in events to ensure that clients feel as though they are getting the service they deserve. I must use efficient multitasking skills in order to ensure that all guests are checked in and out on time. I have to check and prioritise the order in which guests are leaving and arriving to ensure the housekeeping team have the relevant rooms ready. When things go wrong, I have to think on my feet and find a solution to keep the guests happy, whether that be arranging a courtesy room for them or providing welcome drinks and other perks. Another key task is the compiling of guest accounts and fulfilling administrative duties such as but not limited to reconciling the banking, preparing invoices for guests and obtaining the current rates for the room categories. Through this role, I have been lucky enough to further develop and streamline my organisational and multitasking skills.

As a receptionist, the main purpose of my position is to assist in the functionality, communication efficiency and general operations of the company. Answering and directing telephone calls, while vital, is only a small portion of the role. The main focus of the role is to liaise and build client relations while processing retail customer returns. To process a return, I must use strong communicative language in order to gather information and decipher the extent of the fault or manufactural issue. Once gathering all required information, I must then process the return in the system, fill out the required paperwork and communicate with the sales representatives and wholesale teams to organise replacements. Another key task is to arrange all domestic and international courier correspondence for the office via DHL or Toll. This role has enabled me to strengthen my communication and organisational skills. Having attained these skills on a personal and professional level, not only benefits but assists in building the company staff upwards, with ease and efficiency.
