About me
I am Freelance Visual artist (DoP, camera operator and editor). I was a professional snowboarder and have represented Slovenia in the national team. I co-created and appeared in many freestyle films where I used different filming styles and learned to use a variety of cameras. Since then I have been busy with video production and photography.
Projects
- SPAMPOETRYSPAMpoetry is a series of works experimenting with visual aspects of poetry and digital manipulation of email messages. Poetry is created by means of algorithmic patterns from compiled spam messages and is printed by using a modified knitting machine to create seemingly useful clothes. The authors explore the combination of traditional hand work and digital culture as well as the speed of digital messages and the time consuming process of knitting. Spam messages are generated automatically and the same technique is used by the two authors: the automated generation based on algorithms for spam recycling and transformation of these messages into urban poetry. Spams were "harvested” locally, in Eindhoven and Malmo, where the project was initiated. Most recently it was exhibited in Mitte Barcelona (2014). With their work Mar and Varvara test technology and use it to explore new concepts in art and digital production.
- Artist Splinta - Music videoFirst music video for Visual artist and musician, who is behind its wheels of steel already for fifteen years. DJ Splinta pioneered the graffiti scene in Slovenia when he first started in 1993. It was from here that he developed his passion for Hip Hop and in the mid 90s DJ elements started to appear in his musical expression. Since the past sixteen years, mainly through his project HIP HOP VIRUS.
- HEROES WE LOVEMaribor Art Gallery is proud to announce that the coming exhibition is part of the larger international project “Heroes We Love. Ideology, Identity and Socialist Art in New Europe”, supported by the European program Creative Europe 2014?2020. In the period 2015?2017, the project will deal with the legacy of socialist art in New Europe and focus on the most important art-related issues, problems and opportunities of the period as well as produce a series of exhibitions, public art interventions, and international conferences and workshops.
