About me
Interior architect based in London. Formerly Shanghai and Amsterdam. Creating spatial designs for private houses and commercial buildings. Interior design, Furniture & light design, Exhibition design. He is registered in the Architects Register. Studio Van Doorn bases its power on communication, creativity and crafts. Sound interiors and design with a twist come from listening to and cooperating with clients. During 15 years of experience Van Doorn roots his design process in research and recycling. Love for craft and family business are at the core of his work. Old becomes new on his journey to find innovative solutions. In his childhood Rene van Doorn designed floating hotels, wondrous castles in the air of amazement and happiness. Van Doorns mature designs still retain playfulness and hope for a better world. Designers: René van Doorn and team Van Doorn is a multifunctional, versatile interior architect and Dutch designer. He works as studio van Doorn for both private and corporate clients on interior assignments with his team. Rene designs his own furniture, accessories and entire interiors. He was also a freelance trend watcher for various lifestyle magazines, he advises design furniture stores and takes care of styling at photo shoots or exhibitions. Van Doorn graduated in 1999 from the Utrecht School of the Arts with a specialisation in architectural design and furniture design.

    Media Monks office design LondonMedia Monks needed a new office in London. This Global creative production company had a list of requirements but they need also some quirky interior design. There is a custom made gin bar in the social area and also some recycled Streetlight, the lights can switch color. And of course more Dutch design. Media Monks created even a interactive room. That all in a modern office in that used to be an old Victorian warehouse in London.
