The BFI Network and Film London joined forces to choose 3 emerging black female writer directors to receive mentoring in preparation for their 2022 round of film funding. Among 2 other talented writers, I have been guided through the troughs of writing a short that ‘shows not tells’, teaming up with a producer and getting personal guidance on creating a winning treatment. After weekly meeting with talented Development Exec, Janet Awe, in May 2022, I will be submitting my script and package to the BFI in hopes of receiving funding.
