Hi, I'm Rhea, a multi-disciplinary creative hailing from the Shetland Islands. I have always been creative and have been lucky to explore, study and work in a variety of disciplines and places over the years.
In 2018 I graduated with first class in BA(Hons) Contemporary Textiles from the University of the Highlands and Islands. I specialised in knitted textiles and really enjoyed pushing the boundaries of my creativity. As a result I won multiple local and national awards for my work.
Upon graduating I gained the opportunity to work as a kitchen designer for renowned bespoke furniture company, deVOL Kitchens. Here, I worked on many exciting design projects and thoroughly enjoyed both the creative and technical aspects of the role.
In late 2019 I returned to Shetland to start my online business, Hvalholm. Hvalholm acts as a concept for my practice, helping to inspire everything from values to aesthetic to shared content. I have a true passion for the constant creation and curation that is required and enjoy seeing my skills grow stronger day by day.
In addition to running Hvalholm, I am also looking for new opportunities to still develop my career and stimulate me as a creative. Please do not hesitate to connect if you have any questions or queries, I would love to hear from you.
