An extremely passionate and creative material and surface designer; with a particular interest in the way in which the natural world can influence design. Previous work explores the methods and materials through which this can be conceptualised. I am eager to pursue a career within the design industry and I am looking for opportunities to utilise my skills in printed textiles, material knowledge and conceptual research.

I was given the chance to further my experience in the design industry. I was involved with sampling and stocktaking, designing, organising screen work and printing. The diversity of tasks here gave me the chance to see how a textile business operates from various perspectives. I was able to build on my screen-printing abilities and skills alongside my knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. This experience gave me the opportunity to build on my interpersonal and multi-tasking skills.

Work placement with Glasgow-based surface design company, Bespoke Atelier, gave me great insight into the running logistics of a design studio. The studio is commission-based which meant there was huge diversity in projects, allowing me the chance to experience the integration of the creative industry with a variety of clients and potential collaborators.

My MA collection focuses on sustainable design solutions and the devastating impact that single-use plastics are having on our oceans and marine-life. 'Fishing for Plastic' aims to innovatively transform and upcycle 'pointless plastics' into body adorning, textile structures as a means to raise awareness of this global crisis.

My undergraduate printed textile collection 'Biophilia' explores a humans instinctive bond and love for the natural world. A combination of printing and mixed media processes help are utilised to mimic nature's organic surface. The collection aims to capture the essence of how nature changes and adapts in different environment. A futuristic feel is achieved through the use of heat, UV reactive and pearlescent printing inks.
