About me

Prior to working for a London publishing firm, I was studying a PhD in Sociology at the University of Sheffield. I withdrew from this in order to pursue my career. My work experience to date has combined elements of editorial, research and production, and I consider myself very adept with multiple digital tools and software.

This role sits within the ‘legal analysis tools’ branch of the content development department of LBR, a publishing company for the legal industry. My daily activities in this role include: editing and proofing content for a variety of platforms and purposes (such as Global Arbitration Review’s Arbitrator Research Tool and newer tools yet to be launched); using several CMSs to upload, update, check and test content; coding surveys in SurveyMonkey then analysing the data in Microsoft Excel and creating charts in Datawrapper; and inputting these charts into reports and writing the initial analysis; The role entails swift and professional written and spoken communication with a number of stakeholders, both internal and external to the company.

Part of the editorial and outreach team in the SEO department, this role had me liaising authority terms with clients, researching ideas for editorial content, building contact lists of relevant journalists and editors and then pitching said content to these contacts. I conducted lots of additional link building, using tools such as ahrefs to find unlinked mentions or broken links leading to our clients’ websites then contacting the host website asking them to rectify the issue. I also wrote much of the copy, particularly for more ‘technical’ clients and requests from publications for supplementary content, and sub-edited all of the department’s work before it went to the client for approval, checking the facts and research cited as well as general grammar and syntax.
