Hello, I'm Ricky and I'm a print and digital graphic designer. I currently work at Bloom and Blossom, covering all aspects of design across the entire business.
My design career started at a young age by designing a music fansite and learning basic HTML (my MySpace looked 'cool' at the time). I gained plenty of experience within the publishing industry and eventually designed and published a quarterly magazine. As the sole designer, I developed this into a fully interactive and responsive digital magazine.
I've been lucky to work with brands (and freelance clients) on all aspects of design. These have ranged from printed invitations and homewares to digital advertisements and product packaging design. I've worked closely with external design agencies, printers and packaging suppliers to achieve my project goals.
Naturally organised, I can manage my own workload whilst working individually, or working with a team to achieve the overall goal. Designing a project from start to finish is a good feeling.
Always keen to learn new skills, I've been picking up skills in video editing over the past year. I've had the opportunity to use these new skills in my current role. I've also started my journey into learning UI/UX design as this is an area I'm keen to develop and expand upon.

Creative Development ManagerBloom and Blossom
Amersham, United KingdomFull Time
As Creative Development Manager, I have the responsibility to solely create all visual assets across the business. With a multi-disciplined approach, I collaborate with different teams and colleagues in the business on a variety of projects to deliver against our objectives in a timely and effective manner.
My principle remit is brand guardianship, in which I both protect and evolve the brand by ensuring all design touchpoints align with the brand guidelines and that those guidelines are fit for purpose in an ever-changing environment. In this role, I work alongside many different colleagues in the business, from the founders on new product design to the marketing team on POS displays and other collateral.
My most challenging and rewarding project to date was the rollout and implementation of a business-wide re-brand for our core products, produced by an international design agency. I worked closely with their design team to ensure their overall vision is delivered and used correctly across the business.
By taking the design ethos of our newly designed core products and the agency's design principles, I subsequently took the lead role in the rebrand of our licensed children's products. This involved creating various concepts for review by the business leaders and working closely with external licensors to ensure their own brand requirements were met.
In this role, I work across:
• Product design
• In-store POS and shippers
• Digital assets for website and retailers
• Social assets including marketing campaigns
• Packaging
• D2C marketing materials
