Creating stories through colour, texture and shapes is a key roll in my practice as an illustrative print designer. I embrace the organic patterns found in the natural world, highlighting these aspects through mark-making to recreate the textures and surfaces found in landscapes. My use of bold colours create joyful and playful designs, over-exaggerating the natural world to create dream-like scenes. My illustrative drawing style is made up of simple lines and clear imagery, which is then digitally developed using clashing textures and colours to create busy and bright designs. Concentrating on the shapes and compositions, I deconstruct my illustrative drawings to create lively repeat patterns, focusing on the mark-making and colour to create a story instead of narrative imagery.
