About me
Rob Norman is Co-Owner, Co-creative Director and Director of Photography at Knack Studios, one of Australia’s top Production companies specialising in branded content, Action Sports and Pop culture.
He cut his teeth in the surf and snow industry spending 6 years working in and around the ASP world tour of Surfing as a Cameraman firstly and ultimately as a director of the Live webcasts with over 20 World Tour, primes and CT’s events under his belt, Rob knows the in’s and outs of the surfing world and has a great relationship to many of the companies and personalities in and around the tour.
He has also spent over 20 winters shooting with some of the worlds top snow athletes from around the world ultimately culminating this year in being the personal filmer for Shaun White documenting his road to the 2014 winter Olympics for NBC.
Rob is most comfortable in the mountains with years of experience shooting in extreme temperatures and terrain. He can get into the dangerous and technical places with the subject and do so with the equipment necessary to document that “fly on the wall” experience
He is a specialist at “Low impact”, “run and gun”, no-nonsense shooting.
He now has over 14 years experience in production among a vast array of sports, genres and shooting subjects including fashion, corporate, Music, Action Sports and documentary. Rob has cemented himself in a new era of mid-budget, Branded content production where no shot is too hard and no location is too far out of the way.

- Peroni/AquabumpsIs there surf in Italy? Most would say not. But at specific times of the year The Mediterranean dishes up some super fun swells that break around the Italian Rivera. To celebrate summer, beach and yep, the waves of Italy, Aquabumps joined forces with Peroni to produce a series of short films that will take you to a place that we all want to be whilst hiding in our office cubicles – the beach.
- Landrover/AquabumpsAquabumps and Land Rover celebrate this famous surf route in the short ?lm 'The East Coast Institution, a road trip from Sydney to the Gold Coast' . Beginning in Sydney and ending at Snapper Rocks a total of 844 km's - The home of the Quiksilver Pro, The ?rst stop on the Association of Sur?ng professionals calender at the infamous Super Bank. The trip is quintesentially Australian, adventure surf tripping with a likeable bunch of surfers and following the vision of ::Uge and Aquabumps. The beach lifestyle presents surfers with style, road-tripping the east coast in search of empty barrels, good times, beautiful scenery and meeting colourful character locals & wildlife along the way.
