Rob Pinney is a freelance photographer and filmmaker based in London working on documentary, news, and commercial projects. He is also the managing editor of Point.51, an independent magazine for long-form journalism and original photography from across Europe.

    Point.51 Magazine - Issue 04: NationsI was a contributing editor for Issue 4 of Point.51 Magazine, exploring the theme of "Nations" and seeking to explore questions like; What makes a nation? And what does it mean to feel that you belong to one nation – and not another? I commissioned photographers for two stories in this issue, and was involved in layout designs and text editing.

The article examines popular myths and stereotypes about shepherds, contrasting these with the day to day realities I witnessed while living and working with shepherds in the Kelmend valley.

The article examines how history, the presence of the Steelworks and the M4 motorway still hang heavy, while locals find a strong sense of community and new ideas for a bright future for this bypassed Welsh industrial town.
